Lifelong Chatham County resident Doug Moody, along with his son Peyton Moody and his friend Bill Phillips, began Pico Propane in 2003. Bill, who had spent his career in propane, convinced Doug that they could create a locally based propane business that would serve the community better than the big corporations.
